7th CCoe Seminar: Experience with GPU cluster Taurus

ShearOn Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at 3 p.m. (at TU Dresden, Willersbau Room A317) Dr. Andre Galuschko from Leibniz-Institute of Polymer Research Dresden will present his experiences with ZIH’s new GPU partition of the HRSK-II Phase 1 component “taurus”.download full movie Aftermath

As one of the intensive users of the GPU part on Taurus, I will talk about the experience that we have gained.
First part of my talk will deal with parallelization techniques for our simulation models on the GPU, e.g. introducing the Bond-fluctuation-model as a standard Monte-Carlo method for polymer simulation. Additionally, I will shortly present the software HOOMD/LAMMPS for general Molecular Dynamics simulation, which we are using, too.
Secondly, I will summerize our satisfying experience with Taurus.
